It's That Time Once Again!

Yes, that's right folks, it's our favorite time of the year....

AMAZING RACE time!!!

We love the show the Amazing Race and are so happy that it is also broadcasted 'live' here (12-hour delay so it can play in prime time here on our AXN channel). This time around it'll be Monday nights at 8:00pm. That's just a little more than 24 hours from now.

Had a look at the teams and the typical 'diversity' is there... The two new ethnic group teams should be interesting to watch. Haven't chosen a winner yet... or a favorite. Except for the last round (Amazing Race 9 when Tyler and BJ won) my favorite team generally does not win. But that's OK... we enjoy rooting for them anyway.

So Phil, it's time to start the journey of 5 continents, 11 countries, 29 days and 35,000 miles... to find the winner of the Amazing Race!

I'm pumped about the Race starting tonight, but I'm in a bit of a quandry, though. I'm also a big fan of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Now, they're on at the same time. Why did they do that to me?! That's ok, though, because Race took home the Emmy.

On Thanksgiving

I read an article this afternoon titled, “You have permission to not be thankful this Thanksgiving”.     The author’s point was that no one should have to force themselves to be grateful just because a date on the calendar prescribes that we should be thankful.     She even brought in to her argument the fact that “the original Thanksgiving” (think Pilgrims and Native Americans) was a horrible affair sans turkey or any feelings of thanks or of giving or of compassion and humanity.     True enough, I suppose. I would never argue that someone should be forced to be thankful.     I would never say that someone should be compelled to give thanks for things that they don’t have or for things which have been ripped from their grasp.     Forced joy is not joy.     I get that.   However, if I’m going to argue about anything, I would choose to argue passionately about one thing in this regard.  And here's the reason:   I ...

                It’s election day here in America.     A day of red, white, and blue.     Many people have already cast their vote, but others are waiting in lines at polling places, eager to fulfill their civic duty.
