Champions

Last night we watched Roger Federer win Wimbledon for the 4th straight year. Congratulations. We wanted you to win. Nadal played very well, though, and we were proud of him, too.

At the end, we watched the trophy presentation ceremony and Clark asked, "Mama, are they getting their champions now?" Apparently 'trophy' in Clark-speak is translated 'champion'. It was nice because even though Nadal finished 2nd... in Clark's eyes, he was also a champion worthy of great recognition. We love it... spread the victory around a little.

In our house, we do our best to *eat* like champions. You might think this means that we eat a lot of Wheaties. Well, no, not at all.

In our house, the 'breakfast of champions'...? Pop-Tarts and Diet Coke. Thanks to our friends who are visiting from Detroit, we can actually partake in that breakfast now with the four packs of Pop-Tarts they brought us last week.

Tonight, we have crowned a new meal... the 'dinner of champions'... Popcorn and Ice Cream. It used to be only for Sunday evenings, after having a large Sunday lunch and an afternoon nap. However, tonight it became the dinner of champions as Mom was just too lazy to fix anything else and when asked what they wanted for dinner, the kids both chimed in enthusiastically, "Popcorn!" Thus, the new dinner of champions.

Perhaps we will dedicate our new dinner to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

I'm sure they would be so honored.

We watched both the men's and women's final as well... and unfortuantely neither of "our picks" won. What a drag. Federer is such a gentleman though.
Glad you enjoyed watching it!

(ps---popcorn has been a sunday dinner family tradition of ours forever!-- one that my husband doesn't grasp but that I LOVE)
