Unwell

Poor Clark... yesterday morning he developed a severe stomach ache.

We thought perhaps it was because he was hungry... but food didn't do the trick.

We thought perhaps he didn't want to go to school... but the fun and distraction of the bus ride also didn't help.

We thought perhaps it would go away during the day... but two trips the nurse's office at school plus the love and compassion of his teacher all throughout the day also didn't help.

So, when he got off the bus in tears claiming of the same severe pain he had at 7.00a, we decided it was time to go to the doctor. Our dear pediatrician Dr. Sharmila examined him and determined there was nothing seriously wrong, so sent us away with anti-nausea drops, tylenol for his fever, and some colic-drops to hopefully rid Clark of what she thinks was painful gas or some other kind of gastro irritation.

He stayed home from school the next day and had a very high fever for most of the day, but that seemed to be under control when he was medicated.

This morning his fever was way down and he happily went off to school. He's supposed to play tennis and go swimming today, so we're praying for a healthy day.

... oh, and of course now today I am sick. Odd for me, but not completely unexpected when hanging out with a sick 6-year-old all day.
