We definitely LOVE Paris. We had such a great, great time on this part of our trip. We wish we could have stayed longer and done more in Paris, but it was so very expensive. Unbelievable, really. And with a low US Dollar against the Euro, our money didn't go very far. We had a great time trying to eat, stay and see things cheaply.

Our trip to Paris started on the 'jet speed' (as named by the kids) EuroStar train. Just over 2 hours London to Paris. Very fast and very comfortable. I could not think about the fact that we were driving underneath the English Channel, though....!

Our picnic in the Jardins du Champ de Mars.... the big grassy areas just in front of the Eiffel Tower. It was amazing. We bought our lunch on the 3 mile walk from our hotel to the park - bread from a bakery and fruit and meats and cheese from a small market. It was so fun. We finished with cones of chocolate gelato from a street vendor right under the Tower.

Claire continues her promotional beverage campaign...

We climbed to the top of the Arc de Triomphe.... thankfully we did not have to cross the 12 lanes of traffic that circle the Arc. However, we thought our street-crossing-skills acquired in South Asia definitely would have helped if we'd have tried!

Our first attempt at visiting the Louvre Museum. After walking 2 miles to get there, it was closed on the day we visited. Oh well. Still a nice day for a photo!
