The 'morrow...

I have been thinking a lot about contentment lately and today's devotion in Holy Habits was dedicated to that topic.  The chapter ended with this great reminder from Wilson and Volkhardt.

From "Holy Habits" p. 184

If we wish to gain contentment we might try these rules...

1. Allow ourselves to complain of nothing, not even the weather.
2. Never picture ourselves in any circumstances in which we are not.
3. Never compare our lot with that of another.
4. Never allow ourselves to wish that this or that had been otherwise.
5. Never dwell on the 'morrow; remember that is God's and not ours.

I loved that little checklist from a wise woman.  I hope I can do some of that today and breed further a spirit of contentment in all things, with God's help!, in my life today.

This is a good reminder for me right now. I have heard wonderful things about that book...and I know that same list from Linda Dillow's book "Calm My Anxious Heart." Thanks for sharing it.
